The Muppets are Coming

It's been a while since we've had a Muppet movie in theaters. Not since Muppets from Space came out in 1999 to be exact. I had to look that up, which tells you it has been way too long since we got to see the Muppets on the big screen.

We've been getting little YouTube videos on the Muppet Studio's channel for about a year now. Hilarious short movies, like this Bohemian Rhapsody cover, have just gotten fans ready for the Muppets to come back.

For people like me who grew up on Sesame Street, Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock, and The Muppet Show, there has been a huge gap in pop culture since the decline of the Muppet characters. I was thrilled when Jason Segel took the reigns as the writer of a new Muppets film due out November 23rd. If you watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall you know that Segel, who also wrote that film, has a love for puppet humor. He's teaming up with two guys from the hilarious show Flight of the Conchords to make this movie happen. The co-creator of that show is directing, and Bret McKenzie, co-star of the show, is writing all the music. It's clear the show is in good hands and will not be short on fresh humor.

This teaser trailer just came out and it only has a little bit of Muppets, but it's enough to get me excited for November. Check it out, and let us know if you're a life long Mupppet fan like me, in the comments.
